On Jan. 16 at 6:30 p.m., students gathered on campus at Selby Auditorium for a screening of “Jurassic World: Rebirth.” While bringing action, dinosaurs, and suspense to the big screen, this event gave students a chance to unwind and socialize. The atmosphere was filled with exciting energy as students filled the room. Students gathered with drinks and snacks as anticipation filled the room, showing how engaged the audience was.

Before the film began, students talked quietly and reacted with excitement as the opening scenes appeared. Throughout the movie, the audience responded with laughter, gasps, and moments of silence during intense scenes. The students’ faces were immersed in the story and plotlines.

A senior majoring in Theatre, Kyara Hoffer, rated the movie 10/10, saying, “Because it made me cry,” expressing her joy for the film.

Hoffer also states that the original Jurassic Park will always be the best in the franchise.

Senior student Connor Sieni, studying Cybersecurity, said he’s never watched a single movie from this franchise; this one exceeded his expectations, with the visuals and dinosaurs as the highlights of the experience.

Events like movie nights give students an opportunity to take a break from academics and connect with others on campus. Hosting popular film events like this gives students something to look forward to during this semester and creates a sense of community.

Overall, the student’s response to “Jurassic World: Rebirth” appeared largely positive. Many viewers seemed to enjoy the action-packed scenes and visual effects.

While opinions on the storyline varied, the excitement and reactions during key moments showed that the movie successfully entertained the crowd. The film’s blend of suspense and familiar elements from previous installments made it an enjoyable experience for many students in attendance.
