Throughout the years, technology has always created differences in how generations can understand and interact with the world.
Generation Alpha, composed of kids born from 2010 to 2025, is considered unique because they will grow up with significant contact with artificial intelligence (AI) from birth, which is expected to shape their cultural and behavioral habits in ways that set them apart from previous generations.
From the early stage, Generation Alpha will be highly skilled with technology because they will grow up using AI tools and devices like computers and smartphones on a daily basis in school, programs, and events.
This early and continuous interaction with technology will make them more adjustable to new advancements.
According to previous research from Stanford University, they will be comfortable using AI for different aspects of life, such as learning and entertainment, giving them an edge in digital skills compared to older generations.
AI’s presence in education will also provide Generation Alpha with unique learning experiences.
AI-driven learning helps individuals with their needs, learning styles, and paces, which will likely work in terms of education, such as critical thinking and problem-solving skills from a young age.
Generation Alpha will be more interested in AI, especially career fields such as technology, data science, and biotechnology. This generation may be more informative and careful about sharing personal information, and more aware of the potential misuse of data. The good thing about AI is that it provides quick answers and solutions that may lead to a culture of instant gratification.

“As a college student, AI positively impacts my college journey because it is often used for brainstorming, study plans, and career development. AI can improve my academic performance by staying organized and maintaining a healthy balance,” said Manuela Henao Coca, a junior student with honors double majoring in international studies and business management.
Generation Alpha will be experts in AI and its implications on various aspects of life, from education to entertainment. The bad side is that their expectations could affect their emotions, such as patience and perseverance when facing challenges.
However, AI tools will also improve Generation Alpha’s creative expression by allowing them to explore new art, music, and storytelling forms. AI-driven platforms can help generate ideas, create content, and even compose music. The advanced creative tools may lead to a more diverse and innovative cultural landscape.

At the end of the day, AI-powered access to information will make Generation Alpha more globally aware of issues such as world events, cultures, and problems. They will be able to connect more easily with people from different countries and backgrounds, improving their sense of global citizenship and empathy.
This new generation will create a deep relationship with AI that will shape their skills, make them globally aware, and make them more considerate regarding world events.
Because of technology, they will also face challenges related to social interactions, but as they grow, Generation Alpha is expected to lead in technological innovation and support responsible AI, meaning this will create a future balance between technological advances and ethical considerations.
