Are you looking for a movie with excitement and thrill? Netflix recently released an action movie called “Lift” which checks all the boxes for any daredevils.
The basic synopsis of the film is about a crew of professional thieves and their boss, Cyrus, having to work with an agent from an organization called Interpol, to steal 500 million dollars in gold in the middle of a flight.
One of my favorite parts of the movie are the stunts performed in action scenes. At the beginning of the movie, after the thieves steal a painting, there is an epic boat chase through the rivers of Venice as they try to escape the Interpol organization.
In addition, towards the end of the movie, the epic showdown between the terrorists and the thieves trying to steal the gold is filled with adventure. Especially when they are trying to fight and the plan is falling apart, it is just spectacular and thrilling.
Unfortunately, about halfway through the movie, the storyline started to drag. There was a lot of dialogue and a lack of action balance.
Another downfall of the movie was the confusion behind the reason the thieves needed to steal the gold. The explanation felt rushed and too detailed, which was confusing.
Furthermore, a quote that stood out toward the end of the movie stated, “all art depends on the artist.”
Right after that moment, it was revealed who the real villain was. This line reveals the symbolic nature of how the actions come from the person who did them. This gave a deeper meaning to a generic action film
My rating for this film is 3.5 out of 5 stars. There was a sense of excitement and energy throughout the whole film. “Lift” is for anyone who craves money heists, schemes, and adventures.
