As of Nov. 2022, around three million Native Americans are living in the United States, according to the United States Census Bureau. To honor their culture and lifestyle, George H. W. Bush declared November to be the National American Indian Heritage Month. Since this initiative in Aug.1990, Native American heritage has evolved in various ways.

On Saturday, Nov. 12, the first ever Kayaking & Fishing tournament was held by Lake Jovita. The event was hosted by the Sporting Clays team in awareness to help them raise money for their team. Event attendees showed their support, got to enjoy delicious food, and got to go kayaking and fishing.
Eliza Smith is a freshman at Saint Leo University majoring in nursing; however, she is not only pursuing a bachelor’s degree. Smith is on a mission to use her talents and gifts to educate and entertain people of all ages.
On Nov. 11, we all come together to honor and celebrate our veterans. Saint Leo University has a long military heritage, dating all the way back to 1973 when Saint Leo first recognized military personnel and their families as an important part of the student community. From here it only expanded, with Saint Leo being named one of largest committed educational providers to the U.S. military.
On Saturday, October 22, the competitive hacking team of Saint Leo University—the PenTest club—showed off their computer technology skills and made silver at a recent Capture the Flag (CTF) competition in St. Petersburg, Fla.
