Valentine’s Day dates all the way back to the Roman Times and is named after two different Roman Saints, both known as “Valentine.” Although both men’s names were not connected to romance, by the 1840s, the concept of Valentine’s Day as a holiday to celebrate romance had taken over most English-speaking countries.

David Ortiz Inducted into MLB Hall of Fame

On Jan. 25, David Ortiz of the Boston Red Sox was the only player voted into the Hall of Fame by the Baseball Writers’ Association of America. The affectionately nicknamed “Big Papi” was voted in by a jaw-dropping 77.9% of all ballots. Other baseball legends such as Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens reached results of just 66% 65.2%, respectively.
