Major: Cyber Security

Class standing: Junior

SGU position you applied for:  Vice President of Finance

What experience do you have which makes you qualified for the position you’re running for and a better choice than your opponent(s)?

Within my Greek organization of, Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority, Inc. I am the current Vice President of Operation, which handles all the finances for the chapter. With this position I have learned budgeting, setting up payment plans, writing contracts, and doing allocations for events and conferences. Having this experience would give me the ability to help others with there finance issues.

Why do you want this position and what/who inspired or motivated you to run?

The reasoning for me running for this position is to make student organization aware that they can get allocated by SGU for conferences and events. Also, that there is a semester budget that each organization gets from SGU. Another point is to educate the students that are filling out these forms and have sit downs with them when they need help. The person who inspired me to run for this position was Derick McIntosh; he gave me that one on one to help and was there went I needed help. That was the point where I thought I would like to be the next person to do this for others.

What do you hope to accomplish and how do you plan to accomplish these goals in your position?

I hope to accomplish educating people about what SGU can do for the student financially and educate them about the forms and how to fill them out. I plan to accomplish this by doing educational’s on how to do the forms and by giving information at president meetings about what SGU can do for the organizations financially.

What would your first action in office be, if you are elected?

My first action would be to thank everyone who supported me in the race and then get transitioned by the past Vice President of Finance.
