The Saint Leo University Softball program has one of the winningest reputations on campus after finishing last season with a 37-15 record, 17-7 against the Sunshine State Conference, the SSC title, and a trip to the NCAA postseason. The seemingly neverending excitement, the weirdly contradictive anxious and optimistic thoughts along with the desire for freedom are all aspects that almost every college student can confidently agree one will experience when initially going to university. “Grown-ish,” an American sitcom television series aired by Freeform, is the perfect example of an individual going off to college and encountering some of the expected but mostly the unexpected. This “Black-ish” spin-off is already widely favored despite being in its infancy. In fact, with only three episodes out, critics are raving about the very well-handled humorous representation of the transition from adolescent to…

Months have passed since Hurricanes Irma and Maria hit the United States Virgin Islands; however, to this day the aftermath is still being felt ever since the two Category 5 storms rampaged through the islands September of last year. After the devastating hurricanes, the islanders were left without electricity. The New York Times reported that as of late December, approximately one-quarter of the territory still lacked cellphone service. However, it was not until Jan. 9, nearly four months after the hurricanes hit that 92 percent of peoples’ power was restored; however, this was a vast improvement since a month…

Joining a fraternity or a sorority in college is the dream of many incoming students. To generate interest in this semester’s recruitment and rush weeks the different Greek councils held a Greek Showcase Jan. 10 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., complete with brag tables and complimentary donuts. Saint Leo University practices deferred recruitment, meaning that new students are ineligible to join Greek life until completing one semester at the university. This makes spring an important time for Greek organizations and potential new members alike. Students interested in joining Greek life have 14 different organizations from three different councils to…

“Black Mirror,” a British television series, has consistently released a season every year for the last four years. “Black Mirror” is a science fiction series that is set in the future and deals with the concept of technology eventually going badly for humanity, similar to a modern-day “Twilight Zone.” The first episode of the recently released fourth season is titled “USS Callister,” it begins with a not-so-subtle homage to “Star Trek.” Throughout the episode, Robert Daley is a CTO of a technology entertainment company for his day job, but at night, he is Commander Daley of the USS Callister. Daley…
